Hi church family, here is a small update for July.
Just for our encouragement, at the end of the service on Sunday morning one family came forward to give their lives to the Lord. I’m sure in time they will get to share about it, but it would really good to pray for them!
We also have one lady who has asked to come and intern at the church from Spring 2018 to help with the kids. We are just getting to know her better and praying about if it would be good for her to come.
We also have another couple who Sam & I know very well and they are praying about moving to the area, taking part in the ministry school and helping with worship. He is wonderful worship leader, pianist and opera singer.
In both cases it might be wonderful to have these people come and serve with us but we are praying for God’s wisdom about what is best for them and us. Please continue to pray that God would grow His church and that we would understand His will.
This Friday July 7th is our men’s prayer breakfast. Please come if you are able to, it’s a very informal time of catching up and eating a good breakfast. It’s 6.00am at Cody’s Café, 4898 Hollister Avenue, Santa Barbara, CA 93111.
Also, a note from Melene about our women’s gathering on July 16th…
Hello Ladies, I wanted to give you all the info for our meeting together on Sunday July 16th. We will be carpooling after Church to Solvang, as Jez and Lynzi have graciously offered their home to us! We will have lunch when we get there and of course something yummy for dessert!! Jez and Lynzi’s address is 698 Hillside Drive Solvang. Gate code press #1234. We will be passing a sign up sheet at Church this Sunday so we can get a head count for food and rides. When signing up please let us know if you are willing to be one of the drivers for the car pool. We should be back to Goleta before dinner.
I’m excited about what the Lord has for us and would ask that you lift this to the Lord in prayer as we His daughters gather to meet. I love the Lord and I love sharing what He lays on my heart. I am also looking forward to getting to know each of you.
We all have a story, many have been tested and tried but OUR JESUS REMINDS US, TO NOT GROW WEARY! We sure need His help to stay the course! He is here to remind us just who we are in Him and who’s we are! WE ARE GODS GIRLS! Many blessings and much love, Melene
Lastly a note from Dave Lasley. Thanks to the men who previously assisted Dave. He has one last need of assistance and has sent this message:
1st of all I want to think you & the church for the prayers & support. Also, I am needing assistance of 2 guys that would help with the finalization of my move here to Goleta. I am renting a truck on Saturday July 8th & Saturday July 15th.
Are there 2 guys in the church that would be willing to ride along in a rental truck with me on either of these dates to help? It would be a blessing.
My # number Call or Text (805) 886-4271
Blessings to you & your family & the church.
Dave, Silvia, & Katelyn Lasley
NATIONAL VINEYARD CONFERENCE
There are a few people who have decided to go the national Vineyard Conference in Anaheim from July 10th through to the 14th. Sam & I will be there and we are really excited to meet with thousands from the wider Vineyard Movement. Please lift up the conference!
This is an exciting time for Goleta Vineyard as God has been blessing us in many ways. Several people have asked about coming to join the church and serve with us in the areas of worship and kids work, people have been asking about the new AAMS ministry school, some people have come to faith, some people are growing and receiving new Spiritual gifts, last week we had an unusually large number of first time visitors who came to find out about the church, we have received some unusual financial blessing, so I am excited, but change is also hard and presents challenges.
So I’m praying that God would help us all give each other lots of grace, that we would constantly be in prayer for each other, asking for His wisdom, power and love to be poured out.
Thanks for being part of this family!
Love, Pastor Nick.
